LUZERNE COUNTY: The Arc of Luzerne County seeks nominations for its annual awards dinner in celebration of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Month. Nominees are needed for the following categories: the John Glenn Popple Citizenship Award, honors an individual with an intellectual or developmental disability for outstanding participation or contribution to the community; the Michael Miller Service Award, recognizes a high school student who has improved the quality of life for people with intellectual disabilities; the Outstanding Public School Student, to honor a student with an intellectual or developmental disability who has made significant gains in personal development; the Thomas P. Kokura Employer of the Year, recognizes a business that offers employment to people with disabilities; and the Educator of the Year, to recognize an educator who has helped improve the education of students who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.

All nominees must be residents of or conduct business in Luzerne County. All nominations must be submitted by 4 p.m. Wednesday to: Nominating Committee, The Arc of Luzerne County, 16-18 West Linden St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702 or faxed to 970-4780, or e-mailed to info@thearcofluzernecounty.org.

Include your own and the nominee’s name and contact information, and a brief reason for the recognition.
