Michael Kuzmak Jr., formerly of Korn Krest, Hanover Township, Levittown, Pa., as well as Bernardsville, N.J., passed away at age 89 on Wednesday, February 9, 2011.

He was a 1939 graduate of Hanover Township High School and of Wilkes College, class of 1954. He was married to the former Marie McLaughlin, who preceded him in death in 2005 after 62 years of marriage.

Michael was extremely proud of joining the U.S. Navy as an Apprentice Seaman and being discharged as a Warrant Officer. During World War II, he served on three vessels operating in the South Pacific for most of the duration of the war, where he received a letter of Meritorious Conduct while under enemy fire.

He is survived by his brother, John of Detroit, Mich.; daughter Helenann Quinn and husband, Andrew, of Freehold, N.J.; a son Michael III, and wife, Carol, of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; a granddaughter, Aileen Quinn, who starred in the Columbia Pictures film “Annie;” granddaughter Lori Hardee and husband, Jefferson, of Raleigh, N.C.; grandson Andrew Quinn III, and wife, Theresa, of Bridgewater, N.J.; grandson Michael Kuzmak of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; great-granddaughter Fiona Marie Quinn; as well as a great-grandson Ronan Sullivan Quinn, both from Bridgewater, N.J.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on Seney Drive in Bernardsville, N.J. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday St. Mary’s Byzantine Cemetery, Dallas.
