BEST BET: The Irish are known as world-class partiers but no matter your ancestry, you can don your green and jig and reel with Irish spirit this weekend in both Scranton and Wilkes-Barre. Scranton does it up big time on Saturday claiming to be the second largest parade in the country for comparably sized cities. The day starts with mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral with the downtown parade stepping off at noon. Afterwards revelers can raise a glass at the post-parade party at the Scranton Cultural Center where the band Kilrush entertains. Downtown Wilkes-Barre will resound with pipe and drums corps, string bands and Celtic airs Sunday at 2 p.m. with the annual march along South Main Street.
