Crestwood Lacrosse Club is seeking an assistant coach for the high school club team. Previous lacrosse experience is a plus. The club is currently scheduled to become a varsity sport in the 2012-2013 school year. PIAA background clearances and school board approval are required. CAMPS/CLINICS

Dallas High School Softball Booster Club will be holding its annual softball clinic on March 20 in the Dallas Middle School gym. Girls ages 10 and under will be from 10 a.m. to noon and girls from ages 11 through 14 will be from 1-3 p.m.. The clinic is open to girls from all school districts who want to learn the proper fundamentals of throwing, fielding and hitting from the successful Dallas High School softball coaching staff and varsity team members. Electric City Baseball and Softball Academy will host a two-day hitting clinic from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on April 16-17 at Connell Park Little League. Cost is $75. More information: www.electriccitybaseball.com or 570-878-8483.

King’s College men’s soccer team will be holding a free soccer clinic for all children ages 5 through 13 from 9-10:30 a.m. April 9 and April 15 at Betzler Fields. The clinic’s main goal is to give children the chance to learn the basic technical aspects of soccer in an enjoyable atmosphere. The primary instruction will involve passing, dribbling, shooting, and how to properly receive the ball. The clinic will be directed by the King’s College men’s soccer coaching staff as well as current Monarch players. MEETINGS

Hanover Area Boys Basketball Booster Club will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at Major League Sports Bar in Sugar Notch.

Heights Baseball will meet at 4 p.m. Saturday at Stanton Lanes. This will be a combined board and general meeting. Anyone interested in coaching should attend.

Kingston/Forty Fort Little League will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the Kingston Recreation Center. Interested members are encouraged to attend.

Luzerne County Federation of Sportsmen will meet 7:30 p.m. Monday at the American Legion, Post 609 Corner of Lee Park Avenue and St. Mary’s Road, Wilkes-Barre. Club delegates are urged to attend and interested sportsmen are cordially invited.

Swoyersville Little League will hold a work session from 9 a.m. to noon at the Little League field on Hemlock Street. All parents, managers and coaches are asked to attend.

Wyoming Valley Babe Ruth League will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Riverside Cafe, Old River Road in Wilkes-Barre. Team representatives from last year’s summer and fall wooden bat leagues, as well as any players or teams who are interested are invited to attend. There is a 13-15 and 16-18 age division. Final date for team entry is March 31.

Wyoming Valley Chapter of PIAA Baseball Officials will hold a mandatory rules interpretation meeting at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in Room 107 of Breiseth Hall on the Wilkes University campus. This meeting is open to PIAA baseball umpires and coaches. The chapter extends the invitation to all PIAA baseball coaches of any level of interscholastic competition and any PIAA baseball umpire regardless of chapter, in need of fulfilling their mandatory meeting requirements. REGISTRATIONS/TRYOUTS

Heights Baseball will hold registrations from 1:30-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. today at Heights Murray School during parent-teacher conferences. All children ages 4 through 12 and living in Wilkes-Barre and surrounding areas are eligible. The cost is $25 per child. Please bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate. Mayflower Baseball will hold final registrations from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at Stanton Lanes in Wilkes-Barre. All children between the ages of 4 and 12 from Mayflower, Heights, Wilkes-Barre Township, Iron Triangle and Rolling Mill Hill Areas are invited. Cost is $40 per child and $50 per family. A $40 ticket deposit is due at time of signup. All new players must provide a birth certificate/proof of residence. Please call 954-5829 for more information.

Moosic Raiders Junior Football/Cheerleading Association will hold registrations for boys and girls from 5 to 14 from noon to 2 p.m. on March 26, April 2, April 16 and April 30. A wallet-size photo of each child is required along with your child’s original birth certificate and a photocopy are required if this is the first year. The birth certificate documents must be submitted no later than Aug. 1 to be eligible to participate. You do not have to live in Moosic to participate with our program. Plains Soccer Association will hold registrations for our upcoming fall soccer season from 6-8 p.m. on March 27, April 6 and April 10 at the Plains American Legion, Carey Street, Plains. Age groups from U6 through U18 will be accepted. Eligible players must be 4 years of age by Aug. 1, 2011. New players must show proof of age. South Wilkes-Barre Little League will be having a final sign from 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today at Kistler Elementary School during parent-teacher conferences. This is for all levels ages 4 through 16. Cost is $45 for one player and $60 for family. The junior/senior league fee is $70 per player. All levels have a $40 lottery ticket fundraiser due at registration. Three proofs of residency required.

West Side Little League will be holding major league tryouts on Saturday at West Side Tech. Major league players will try out at 9:30 a.m., while minor league players will try out at 10:15 am.
