Denise A. Polinchak, 55, of Wilkes-Barre Township, died Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township, as a result of injuries from an automobile accident in the parking lot of the Social Security Administration in Plains Township on Monday evening, March 7, 2011.
She was born May 30, 1955, in Wilkes-Barre Township, a daughter of Stephanie Seger Remakus of Wilkes-Barre Township and the late Benjamin Remakus Sr. Denise was a graduate of Bishop Hoban High School, class of 1973. She was also a graduate of Wilkes College, and she furthered her education at Shippensburg University.
Denise was employed as a data analyst at the Social Security Administration Office in Plains Township.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Remakus.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her husband of 35 years, Michael K. Polinchak; brothers, Benjamin Remakus Jr., and his wife, Elizabeth, of Swoyersville, and Joseph Remakus of Plains Township; sisters, Pamela McMahon and her husband, Keiran, of Wilkes-Barre Township, and Michelle Turner and her husband, William, of Shickshinny; as well as nieces and nephews.
Private Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre. The Rev. Timothy Alleman, Rector of Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Wilkes-Barre, will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
