Genevieve F. Suseck, 92, of Nanticoke, passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 8, 2011, at Birchwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Nanticoke.

Born on October 2, 1918, in Shenandoah, Pa., she was a daughter of the late John and Agatha Cieslak Kalinowsky. Genevieve attended the Shenandoah schools and W. Cooper High School. A resident of Nanticoke since 1987, she previously lived in Frackville and Kingston for a brief time moving from West Wyoming where she had lived for many years.

Prior to retiring, Genevieve was employed in the garment industry in Wyoming for many years and last at Val Sportswear, Wilkes-Barre, for four-and-a-half years.

She was a member of St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, Nanticoke, and had been a member of St. Mary of Czestochowa Church and its Women’s Council, the Nanticoke Senior Citizens Group, and International Ladies Garment Workers Union.

Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Suseck, on September 17, 1980; brothers, Edward and John Kalinowsky; and sisters, Stella Gober, Helen Sadowski, Dorothy Gill and Sophie Hancher.

Surviving are her daughter, Joann Bukowski, at home; grandchildren, Thomas Bukowski and his wife, Kimberly; Bethann Kratz and her husband, Timothy; and Stephen Bukowski; great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Trevor Bukowski, and Maddy Genevieve and Lily Kratz; a sister, Mary Whitecavage, Levittown, Pa.; as well as nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday from Davis-Dinelli Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at St. Faustina Parish/St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, 1030 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke, with the Rev. James Nash as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Plains Township. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home during which time there will be a Christian wake service.
