Marion Nealon, 83, of Ashley, died Wednesday morning, March 9, 2011, in Golden Living Center, East Mountain, Wilkes-Barre.

She was born April 23, 1927, a daughter to the late Leo and Rose Conrad of Wilkes-Barre. She was an adored wife, mother, nana, great-grandmother, cousin, aunt and sister.

Marion collected friends wherever she went; she was well-loved by her co-workers at RCA and fellow members of the St. Leo’s Cyrenians. Most of her time was spent enjoying the company of family and friends and entertaining them with good food, great stories, and lots of laughter. It was impossible not to be brightened by Marion’s presence – she truly lit up any room and was the life and spirit of every gathering.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Eleanore Flattery.

Marion is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert E. Nealon; daughters, Kathleen Rusak and her husband, John, Ashley, and Kelly Connelly and her husband, Patrick, Ashley; grandchildren, Michael and his wife, Jen; Kerry, Jenny, Matt and Molly Rusak, Patrick and Sean Connelly; two great-grandchildren, Kiley and Aislyn Rusak; as well as nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday from the Lehman Family Funeral Service Inc., 689 Hazle Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Leo’s/Holy Rosary Church, 33 Manhattan St., Ashley. The Rev. Thomas J. O’Malley will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. Please join Marion’s family to celebrate her life from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, c/o Golden Living, 101 E. Mountain Blvd., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702, in memory of Marion.

Marion’s family would like to thank the staff of the Golden Living Care Facility especially the Alzheimer’s Care Unit for their excellent care, compassion and kindness.
