NANTICOKE – City police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the driver of a car that struck an elderly man at Market and Broad streets on Tuesday.
Robert Wilson, 84, was struck around 4:10 p.m. as he attempted to cross the road, said Sgt. Michael Roke.
Roke said Wilson was in the crosswalk when a car struck him and knocked him to the ground.
The driver got out of the car, then got back in the vehicle and left the scene.
Wilson suffered cuts and abrasions. He was treated at an area hospital and released.
Roke said Wilson said the driver was a man, about 25 years old, but Wilson was not able to provide a description of the vehicle.
Roke said he spoke to several people who were in the area when Wilson was hit, but none of them saw the vehicle strike Wilson.
Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call Nanticoke police at 735-2200.
