Natalie Portman’s Oscar for “Black Swan” turned heads everywhere to the ballet “Swan Lake,” which can only be a good thing for local dancers. Perennial favorite Julie Degnan dances a similar leading role for Ballet Northeast this weekend in “Giselle,” the classic story of innocence, love, betrayal and redemption. In so doing she reprises a role her mother, Kristin Degnan-Boonin, danced as a teen. Guest professional artist Nikolai Morschakov stars as Albrecht at the Dorothy Dickson Darte Center, West River Street at South River Street, Wilkes University, Wilkes-Barre.
