The Wyoming Valley West School District participated in the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science recently held at King’s College. More than 600 students in grades 7 through 12 in seven Northeastern Pennsylvania counties participated in the daylong event. First award winners proceed to the state competition at Penn State University in May. Students who participated in the mathematics category, from left: James Dal Santo, seventh grade, first award; Maria Konopke, faculty sponsor; Lauren Hannagan, eighth grade, second award; Alexa Vargo, eighth grade, first award; Hollis Langley, eighth grade, first award, perfect score and Junior High Excellence Award; Bethany Lindsey, eighth grade, first award; Julie Green, eighth grade, first award; and Joseph Dal Santo, ninth grade, second award.
