The 2011 Autism Walk and Community Awareness Fair will begin with registration at 8:30 a.m. Saturday April 16 at the Forty Fort Recreation Complex off Wyoming Avenue in Forty Fort. The family-friendly walk begins at 10 a.m. and is sponsored by the Luzerne County Autism Coalition and John Heinz Rehab. All proceeds will be granted to local providers to support the development and expansion of services for individuals of Luzerne County who are affected by autism. Commemorative T-shirts will be provided for walk participants and there will be free prizes, giveaways, exhibits from area agencies, free child friendly activities, autism awareness merchandise, and a basket raffle. Earn free raffle tickets with walk pledges and additional awards such as Visa Gift Cards will be given to those who reach designated levels of pledges.
