Lenten Fish Dinners prepared by Chef2Table every Wednesday and Friday through April 22 at Plains American Legion, East Carey Street, Plains Township. Only takeouts available 4-7 p.m. on Wednesdays; dine in or takeout 4-7 p.m. on Fridays. Dinners cost $8 and include breaded fish with tartar sauce, French fries, pierogies and cole slaw. Spaghetti and Pasta Dinner 4-6:30 p.m. every Thursday at St. Mary’s Antiochian Orthodox Church, 905 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre. Menu includes a choice of five pastas including whole wheat spaghetti, and seven sauces with chicken or sausage, salad, dessert, and beverages. Takeouts available. Community Lunch Program for White Haven Residents 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 418 Berwick St., White Haven. This ministry is supported through donations. Church membership not required. Doors open at 10 a.m. for coffee and close at 1:30 p.m. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers are needed. Menu includes fried haddock or baked cod and a choice of two sides of fries, coleslaw, baked beans, mac ’n’ cheese or applesauce; beverages, and a chocolate chip cookie. Annual Good Friday Fish Fry starts at 4:30 p.m. April 22, Hughestown Hose Company banquet hall, 30 Center St., Hughestown. Last seating will be at 8:30 p.m. Menu features the secret beer batter recipe, hand-cut French fries, homemade coleslaw and rolls. Homemade pizza will also be available by the slice, as well as by the tray for takeouts. A gift basket raffle, Holland Lopps Rabbit raffle and an appearance by the Easter Bunny are planned. Tickets are $8 and free for children younger than 8 years old.
