ATLANTA — Cole Hamels combined with two relievers on a five-hitter and Shane Victorino capped a big series with three hits, including his first homer, to lead the Philadelphia Phillies past the Atlanta Braves 3-0 on Sunday.

Hamels (1-1) gave up four hits with one walk and eight strikeouts in seven innings to beat Derek Lowe (1-2), who was almost as strong. The right-hander allowed seven hits and two runs in seven innings.

Nationals 7, Mets 3

NEW YORK — Ivan Rodriguez hit a tiebreaking RBI single in the 11th inning and the Washington Nationals came back to beat the New York Mets.

Laynce Nix followed with a three-run homer off Blaine Boyer (0-2), the Mets’ fifth reliever.

Rodriguez’s hit got past second baseman Daniel Murphy, who pinch hit for Brad Emaus in the ninth after the Mets’ bullpen blew a 3-1 lead in the eighth. Right fielder Lucas Duda, whose misplay of a flyball in the eighth led to the tying runs, scooped up the ball, but his throw to the plate was inaccurate and pinch-runner Wilson Ramos scored easily.

Rockies 6, Pirates 5

PITTSBURGH — Seth Smith drew a bases-loaded walk in the seventh inning and Colorado kept up its strong start with a win over the Pittsburgh Pirates, giving the Rockies three wins in four games of their first road series this season.

Astros 7, Marlins 1

HOUSTON — J.A. Happ pitched four-hit ball into the eighth inning and drove in two runs with a double in Houston’s victory.

Hunter Pence, Carlos Lee and Matt Downs also knocked in runs for the Astros, who finished with a season-high 16 hits, six for extra bases.

Brewers 6, Cubs 5

MILWAUKEE — Pinch-hitter Casey McGehee delivered a two-run homer with two outs in the eighth inning as Milwaukee rallied for the win.

Prince Fielder and Ryan Braun each hit a two-run homer for Milwaukee, which has won five of six after an 0-4 start.

Padres 7, Dodgers 2

SAN DIEGO — Aaron Harang pitched six sharp innings, and Ryan Ludwick broke out of a slump with a go-ahead homer and Nick Hundley added a two-run shot in San Diego’s win.

Cameron Maybin had a solo home run and an RBI triple as the Padres avoided a three-game sweep.

Cardinals 6, Giants 1

SAN FRANCISCO — David Freese went 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs and Kyle Lohse allowed one run in eight innings to help the Cardinals snap a three-game losing streak.

Matt Holliday scored the go-ahead run and added an RBI single in his first game since undergoing an appendectomy April 1 to help the Cardinals win for just the third time in nine games this season.

Diamondbacks 10, Reds 8

PHOENIX — Chris Young hit the decisive three-run homer and Stephen Drew had four hits and three RBIs, helping Arizona rally twice and take two of three from the Reds.
