ASHLEY: Holy Rosary Catholic War Veterans Post 274 and its Home Association will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Post home, 175 Old Ashley Road. Post 274 and its Home Association will sponsor an Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. April 23 at the post home. Children ages infant to 9 years old are invited. Prizes will be awarded.
GLEN LYON: The Lt. Chester F. Strzalka Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8353 will meet at 6:30 p.m. on April 19 at American Legion Post 539, 62 Newport St. Commander John Pickle will oversee the nomination of officers for 2011-12 and discuss the Memorial Day celebration, and the appointment of delegates to the national convention planned Aug. 21-Sept. 1 in San Antonio, Texas.
MOCANAQUA: Mocanaqua Ladies Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Memorial Post 6434 will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Shickshinny Senior Center. Officers will be nominated and Lisa and Beverly will host the session.

PLAINS TWP: LANI Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6325 will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Post home, 35-37 Cleveland St., Hudson. Nominations and the election of officers for 2011-12 will take place. To qualify, candidates must have a current membership. A social hour will follow. Commander Michael Basta will preside.
SWEET VALLEY: A claims consultant from the Wilkes-Barre Veterans of Foreign Wars will offer free assistance for veterans from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 19 at the office of state Rep. Karen Boback, R-Harveys Lake, 5929 Main Road. For more information, call 477-3752.
