WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes baseball team defeated FDU-Florham, 13-10 on Sunday in another slugfest between the two teams following Saturday’s hit parade.
The Colonels and Devils combined for 87 runs and 94 hits in the three-game series, wrapping up one of the highest scoring three-game totals in Wilkes history (39 runs).
Al Clocker went 3-for-5 with a triple and five RBI on Sunday for Wilkes, while Joey Watson added a two-run home run in the third inning.
In the fifth, Wilkes added three more runs, including one driven in by Clocker on a double. Clocker moved the lead to 13-4 in the top of the ninth with a two-run homer. The Devils added six runs in the bottom of the ninth, but the Colonels hung on for the victory.
King’s splits twinbill
Levi Tate pitched 6 2/3 innings of two-hit ball while Chris Sweeney had two home runs to lead King’s over Eastern 5-2 in the second game of a doubleheader after losing the first game 7-1.
In the second game, King’s jumped out to a 3-0 first inning lead, highlighted by the first of Sweeney’s home runs. Sweeney later hit a home run to give King’s a 5-1 lead in the seventh.
Sweeney ended 3-for-3 with four RBI and three runs scored. Rich Acierno added two hits and one RBI.

Jake Rohring and Chris Dimino won in singles action, yet the Monarchs lost to Marywood on Sunday.

King’s at Glenmaura
The King’s golf team stood in last place out of 11 teams after the opening day of the Glenmaura National Collegiate invitational at Glenmaura National Golf Course
The Monarchs finished the day with a score of 351. Muhlenberg currently stands in first place with 303.
Chris McGrath is 29th out of 55 with a score of 80. Eric Jesikiewicz shot an 87 while Joe Santino scored 90.
H.S. Boys Lacrosse
Dallas 7, Bellefonte 5
The Mountaineers opened their season with the victory by opening a 5-1 lead and holding on.
Zack Taylor, JT Carey, and Karsten Leu had two goals each for Dallas, while Tanner Baloh chipped in with 3 assists.
