HARRISBURG — Rep. Karen Boback (R-Columbia/Luzerne/Wyoming) issued the following statement on the recent announcement that United Rehabilitation Services plans to close its locations in Tunkhannock, Wilkes-Barre and Hazelton:

“It was so upsetting to learn about the proposed closure of the United Rehabilitation Services locations in Tunkhannock, Wilkes-Barre and Hazleton. I am deeply concerned about that potential loss of this valued business to the communities and people it serves, and to the employees who may lose their jobs.

“I understand that my colleague, Rep. Tarah Toohil, has asked for emergency funding so that URS can remain open until the completion of the 2014-15 budget. I support that effort and will assist in any way that I can.”
