DALLAS: Misericordia University and the Department of Religious Studies is hosting the annual Ecumenical Society of the Blessed Virgin Mary-USA annual conference from 8:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 9 in Mercy Hall.

The Ecumenical Society of the Blessed Virgin Mary-USA is a nationwide ecumenical society dedicated to sharing doctrinal concepts and traditions found in various world religions and Christian denominations. The annual meeting is an opportunity to present new theological insights and developments pertaining to the Blessed Virgin.

Guest speakers include Dr. Virginia M. Kimball, president of the Ecumenical Society of the Blessed Virgin Mary-USA and an assistant professor of theology at Assumption College, Worcester, Massachusetts; Dr. Stevan Davies, professor of religious studies at Misericordia University; Dr. Robert Miller, assistant professor of religious studies at Mt. St. Mary College, Newburgh, New York; Rt. Rev. Aubrey N. Bougher, bishop, Northeastern Diocese, Lutheran Church–International, Rosedale, New York; Sister Mary Catherine Nolan, author, lecturer, retired professor, Adrian, Michigan; and Father Al Wagaman, former president of the Ecumenical Society of the Blessed Virgin Mary-USA.

Registration for the conference begins at 8:45 a.m. in Room 200 of Mercy Hall. The registration fee of $25 and $10 for students, includes lunch. The deadline to register is Friday.
