AVOCA — Officials remind that per ordinance No. 5 of 2000, all individuals connecting private roads or driveways to public roads are to submit plans to obtain permits. If the connection causes drainage or other problems, the request can be denied. A fee is required for the issuance of permits. Violation of this ordinance will result in penalties.

AVOCA — Borough Council will meet Nov. 14 immediately after the 6:30 p.m. work session in the Municipal Building.

AVOCA — Yard waste pickup will end after the Nov. 19 collection.

HUGHESTOWN — The borough has a burning ban, prohibiting anyone from burning anything. There is a recycling and garbage collection for residents.
