DALLAS TWP. — The township supervisors announced Tuesday the township was awarded a $24,500 Department of Conservation and Natural Resources grant, part of the master plan to improve the township’s parks.
“This is wonderful,” said supervisor Liz Martin. “We would love to do some type of wildlife trail in Kunkle.”
In other grant-related business, the board passed a resolution to acknowledge Kingston Township as the recipient of a $350,000 Department of Community and Economic Development Local Share Account Grant on behalf of the Back Mountain Community Partnership. Dallas Township will receive $64,308 of the gaming grant funds to purchase a road widener for $74,210. The township will pay the difference.
In other business, the board voted to grant a reduction of the line of credit to the developers of Yalick Farms from roughly $600,000 to about $200,000. The exact figures weren’t available at the meeting. The reduction was granted because the developers completed the final paving of Yalick Road, the supervisors said.
Due to Election Day on Nov. 4, the next regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors will be held on Nov. 3. The first reading of the 2015 budget will take place at that meeting.
