Keystone College cross country runners Justin Clarke and Shannon Vairo were honored on Sept. 29 as the Colonial States Athletic Conference announced its weekly award winners. Clarke was named the CSAC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week while Vairo was selected to the conference’s Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week Honor Roll.

Clarke earned his second-straight Runner of the Week award and fourth overall weekly accolade of the fall after placing fifth out of 199 runners in Saturday’s 8K race at the Lock Haven Invitational. The senior ran a time of 25:43.1, just 18 seconds off a personal record to help Keystone finish 12th out of 14 teams in the event that featured Division I and II programs. The Giants also finished ahead of Marywood University, their only CSAC opponent in the race.

Vairo was selected to the weekly Honor Roll after posting a personal record time of 23:53.4 at Saturday’s Lock Haven Invitational. The junior’s time in the 6K race was good for a 34th place finish out of 171 runners in the field. Vairo helped Keystone place 14th out of 15 teams in the event which also featured numerous Division I and II teams.
