2-day Ukrainian Folk Festival set
The seventh annual Ukrainian Folk Festival will be held on Aug. 21-22 at
the
Ukrainian Homestead, just off Route 209 in LehightonThe festival runs from
noon to 7 p.m. on Saturday, with the main stage show at 2 p.m., and from 11
a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, with the main show at noon.
This year’s festival includes performers from Canada, the United States and
Ukraine, including Sonyashnyk Ukrainian Dance Ensemble of Ontario, Canada.
Highlights of the group’s performance include a Ukrainian wedding suite and a
20-minute finale “Hopak.”
Also performing are the Voloshky Dance Academy, the Kazka Ukrainian Song
and Dance Ensemble and the Holubka Trio with the Dnipriany Orchestra.
Saturday’s show is followed by an evening dance beginning at 9.
Ethnic foods and arts and crafts will be available throughout the day.
Admission is $5 per person for one day or $7 per person for both days.
