Michael Drugach, 98, of Kingston, died Sunday at his home. Born Aug. 12,
1901, in Edwardsville, he was a son of the late Jacob and Gabriella (Mudrak)
Drugach. He was a 1925 graduate of Wyoming Seminary, Kingston. He was a U.S.
Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving as a staff sergeant in
Washington, D.C. He worked for the Wilkes-Barre Publishing Co. for 56 years,
receiving the Stanley Kupstas Memorial Award for distinguished service to the
Newspaper Guild Local 120 in 1973. He was a member of St. Mary Protection of
the Mother of God Byzantine Rite Catholic Church, Kingston, the Newspaper
Guild Local 120 and the St. Nicholas Senior Citizens Club, Wilkes-Barre. He
was past president of the Marine Corps League. He was honored by Project: HEAD
for active senior club participation beyond age 90. He was preceded in death
by his sister, Ann Drugach; and brothers, Joseph and John L. Surviving are his
wife, the former Jule D. Dobb; brothers, Nicholas, Caldwell, N.J.; and William
Drugash, Desert Palm, Ca.; sister, Helen Lukesh, Danbury, Conn.; and several
nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be at
9:15 a.m. Wednesday from the John V. Morris Funeral Home, Wilkes-Barre, with
Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Protection of the Mother of God Church,
with the Rev. Theodore Krepp officiating. Interment will be in Denison
Cemetery, Swoyersville. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Parastas services will be Tuesday evening. Memorial donations may be made to
Wyoming Seminary.
