WILKES-BARRE – The team of Jennifer Spellman, Lisa Trunzo, Amber Washko and
Eilleen Spellman captured the final event of the meet to secure the Coughlin
girls swimming team’s 81-77 victory over Dunmore on Monday.
It was the first victory for the Crusaders since they brought back their
girls swim program. Coughlin (1-4) is swimming a non-conference schedule this
season and plans on rejoining the Wyoming Valley Conference.
Eilleen Spellman was a triple-winner for the Crusaders. Coughlin pulled
ahead late in the meet when Cathy Meyer won the 100 backstroke. Then Erin
Rogan won the 100 breaststroke, then Coughlin sealed the victory by taking

NANTICOKE – Amanda Stempleski led the Meyers girls with four first-place
finishes as they defeated Elk Lake in a WVC meet.
Maura Pape, Jillian Bohonko and Julie Frank each earned three firsts for
the Mohawks.
