January 24, 2000 ritz R. Bleese, 86, of Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre,
formerly of Wood Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Monday at Mercy Hospital,
Wilkes-Barre. Born Aug. 4, 1913, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late
Frederick and Ida (Kocher) Bleese, and was a member of the first graduating
class of Meyers High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II,
having served in China, Burma and India. He worked for W.H. Nicholson Co. as a
welder supervisor for 40 years. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church
and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 283, Kingston. He was preceded in death by
his wife, the former Margaret Ibach; and son, Albert. Surviving are his son,
Fritz W., of Nanticoke. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday from the
Kniffen O’Malley Funeral Home, Inc., Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in
Hanover Green Cemetery, Hanover Township. The Rev. Timothy G. Hall will
officiate. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Memorial donations may
be made to Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre.
