Rescheduling snowed-out high school sporting events can be trickier than it
seems. Especially when animal athletes get involved. A donkey basketball game
at Lake-Lehman High School on Friday made finding a makeup date for the
Wyoming Valley West at Lake-Lehman boys basketball game a bit troublesome.
Lehman has wrestling today and the girls basketball team is home tomorrow.
Friday is the annual donkey basketball game and the boys team already moved
its game scheduled for that day to Saturday. The schools eventually settled on
Feb. 2 as a makeup date. Boys basketball games rescheduled for tonight are
Coughlin at Wyoming Area, Bishop Hoban at Seton Catholic, Hazleton Area at
Nanticoke, Pittston Area at Dallas, Berwick at Crestwood and Tunkhannock at
Hanover Area. The Bishop O’Reilly at GAR game will be played Saturday night.
Northwest at Wyoming Seminary will be played Saturday afternoon with the
junior varsity game starting at 1 p.m. with the varsity to follow. Bishop
Hafey at Meyers will be Saturday with the junior varsity at 12:30 p.m. and the
varsity at 2 p.m.
