January 26, 2000 dolph J. Stepanitis, 90, died Wednesday after a brief
illness. Born Aug. 2, 1909, he resided most of his life in Hazleton. He was a
member of the St. Peter & Paul Lithuanian Catholic Church, Hazleton; the
Knights of Columbus; and the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, Scranton Local.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella; brother, Anthony; and sister
Helen Nalevanko. Surviving are his son, Dr. Joseph W. Stepanitis,
Wilkes-Barre; daughters, Patricia Penshaw, Liverpool, N.Y.; Joan Green, New
Paltz, N.Y.; and Jean Bohrn, Lancaster; 11 grandchildren; eight
great-grandchildren; and sister, Olga Strachko, Lancaster. Funeral services
will be at 9 a.m. Saturday from the Frank J. Bonin Funeral Home, Inc.,
Hazleton, with a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Peter & Paul Lithuanian
Catholic Church. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
