The production is in need of 15 speaking roles to be filled by

performers between 8 and 17 years old, plus other roles. The Northeast
Junior Players will host auditions on Saturday, Feb. 5 for the musical
“Pinnochio.”
The production will need 15 speaking roles filled by performers between the
ages of 8 and 17. In addition, chorus and extra roles are available for youth
as young as six. No experience is necessary to be part of auditions.

Auditions will be held in the lower level theater of St. Theresa’s Church,
Pioneer Avenue in Kingston Township.

Audition times are 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m. Older, experienced actors are
asked to attend one of the earlier time slots, while younger, less experienced
actors are asked to attend the later time slot.

So that enough time is set aside for each person auditioning, all actors
are asked to call 675-4333 to register for an audition time.

Rehearsals will occur primarily on weekends beginning Feb. 12 through
April. The production dates will be in early May.

All actors should be prepared to read from the script, sing and possibly
try a few dance steps. Although singers may bring sheet music and an
accompanist, taped accompaniment music or a cappella performance is
acceptable.

Cast requirements include Pinnochio, a young boy between 7 and 10 who must
be able to sing well; also Gepetto, which requires an older experienced teen
or young man.

Additional speaking roles are the Puppet Master, the Blue Fairy, Fluff and
Muff, Cricky, Mr. Fox, Madame Cat, bad boys and girls, plus the roles of Push
and Shove, puppets and various chorus extras.

Production dates April include shows open to the public as well as school
shows. The tentative school show dates are May 7 and 8. School groups may call
675-4333 for more info.
