The Family Care Consortium, a family support system that involves parents,
relatives, guardians, friends and people with developmental disabilities, held
its annual holiday luncheon at the Woodlands Inn & Resort, Plains Township.

Wyoming Area Class of 2000 holds formal
    The Wyoming Area Class of 2000 held its annual Christmas Formal at East
Mountain Inn in Wilkes-Barre. Theme was “Party Like It’s 1999,” and the
formal song was “Wonderful Tonight.” Music was provided by Champion DJ. The
highlight of the evening was the crowning of the Rob Sabola and Gina Giordano

Legion Auxiliary conducts annual Gift Shop at VA
   
The American Legion Auxiliary conducted its 47th annual Gift Shop at the
Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre, during the
holiday season. Marion Kunigonis, American Legion Auxiliary VAVS
representative, coordinated the project that supplies a gift of choice to
every Medical Center veteran patient, Nursing Home Care Unit resident, as well
as those veteran outpatients who visit the facility during the event. The
American Legion Auxiliary units from Eastern and Central Pennsylvania stock

\ Mercy Hospital staff conducts holiday project
   
The staff of Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, participated in a Holiday
Christmas Project to benefit the children and families served by Luzerne
County Head Start Inc. The project is an annual event coordinated by Mercy’s
Pastoral Care Department. Six Head Start families received food baskets and
gifts. All departments and staff levels throughout the hospital joined in the
event. The donations were distributed to families who participate in the
Beekman Street, Wilkes-Barre Head Start Center. The agency operates 11 centers
throughout Luzerne and Wyoming counties. Representatives of Mercy Hospital’s
staff and Pastoral Care Department and Luzerne County Head Start Family
