January 24, 2000 rancis J. “Frank” Callahan, of Islamorada, Fla., president
of Frank Callahan Co., with locations in McAdoo, Colmar, Milton and Millville,
N.J., died Monday in Kendall, Fla. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the
late James J. and Anna (Carrabine) Callahan. He was a graduate of North
Catholic High School and Pierce School of Business. His company was an
industrial distributor of bearings, power transmissions and bulk material
handling equipment. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served on the USS
Newport News. Surviving are his wife, Bonnie; sons, Kevin, James, Dennis, Sean
and Sam Callahan; stepson, Martin McDermott; daughters, Patty Smith, Jean
Feeley, Colleen Callahan and Marlene Callahan; eight grandchildren; brothers,
Thomas and John; and sisters, Margaret Reilly and Annamarie O’Reilly. He was
preceded in death by his daughter, Anne Callahan. Funeral services will be
from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. Saturday at the Wetzel & Son Funeral Home, Willow
Grove, with Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Jude’s Catholic Church, Chalfont. Interment
will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 this evening.
