January 26, 2000 aul P. Sagun, 83, of Bennett Street, Luzerne, died Wednesday
at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Sheatown, he was a son of the late
Anthony and Mary Ann Sagun. He attended Newport Township schools and was a
member of Holy Trinity Church, Nanticoke. He was chief electrician for
Lockheed Electronics, Plainfield, N.J., until retiring in 1981. He was a U.S.
Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of American Legion Post 350,
Nanticoke; and Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 9. He was preceded in death
by his sisters, Martha, Clara, Stella, Mary and Irene. Surviving are his wife,
the former Hilda Stefanovich; son, Paul Jr., Phillipsburg, N.J.; daughters,
Mary Capelle, Upper Black Eddy; and Sharon, Piontkowski, Exeter; six
grandchildren; brother, Arnold, Baltimore, Md.; and several nieces and
nephews. American Legion Post 350 will conduct a private military funeral from
the Grontkowski Funeral Home P.C., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial
in Holy Trinity Church. Entombment will be in Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg.
Public calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today.
