WILKES-BARRE – A city man was arrested Thursday on charges of sexually
assaulting a 9-year-old female relative several times over a two-year period,
police said.
Robert Wickkiser, 39, of Parkview Circle, was charged with six counts each
of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and indecent assault. He also faces
two counts each of corruption of a minor and endangering the welfare of
children. According to an affidavit of probable cause:
The victim stayed at Wickkiser’s apartment on several occasions during
the summer of 1998. While at the apartment, Wickkiser took her into his
bedroom, had her remove her clothes and lie on the bed.
The victim said Wickkiser touched her and rubbed his penis against her. He
also tried to have the girl touch him, but she refused. On one occasion, he
forced the girl to perform a sex act on him.
After each assault, Wickkiser told her he would hurt her if she told
anyone.
During the summer of 1999, Wickkiser also had the girl, then 10, perform a
sex act while at Kirby Park. Again, Wickkiser threatened to hurt her if she
told anyone.
Wickkiser was arraigned before District Justice Martin Kane and remanded to
the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $25,000 bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday before Kane.
