The recent approval by the Luzerne County Board of Commissioners to draft
a plan presented by Voter Services Director Kevin Jordan to increase voter
registration and to familiarize the younger voters leaving high school how to
use the voting machines is something I have advocated for a long time. At one
of the seminars Kevin Jordan held recently, I asked him if he would agree to
deliver the voting machines to the local high schools for training, and he
promised me then that it was in the works.
I read that it will become a reality, called Vote2K. I think this is great.
The young people will some day be our future leaders, and one of the most
important things they will be called on to do is vote.
I am profoundly grateful to Kevin Jordan for a prodigious service to all
citizens in Luzerne County, not to mention the nation, for his commitment for
better government. He is a man of his word a virtue that is hard to find
these days.
