January 28, 2000 ominick “Bing” Benedetti, 86, formerly of George Avenue,
Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre, died Friday at Partridge-Tippett Nursing
Facility, Wesley Village, Jenkins Township. Born Nov. 16, 1913, in
Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Guglielmo and Frances Ercolani
Benedetti. He was a graduate of Plains High School, class of 1932. He owned
and operated the former East End Poultry for many years and also owned a
miniature golf course on Route 115, Blakeslee. He was a member of St.
Dominic’s Church, Wilkes-Barre, and Mountain Lake Fishing Club. He was
preceded in death by brothers, Alfred, Elmer and Richard Benedetti. Surviving
are sisters, Viola Vitali, with whom he formerly resided; Anne Andrews,
Bristol; Ida Farrell, San Antonio, Texas; brother, John Benedetti, Houston;
nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from E.
Blake Collins Funeral Home, Wilkes-Barre, with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in
St. Dominic’s Church. Interment will be in Italian Independent Cemetery, West
Wyoming. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers,
memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Unit at Wesley Village or to
Hospice St. John in Pittston.
