Jeffrey G. Spaide, 35, died Sunday, January 9, 2000 in Las Vegas, Nevada,
where he had been a resident for the past 11 years. Born in Wilkes-Barre on
July 15, 1964, he was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia (Carey)
Spaide; father, George Spaide; and stepmother, Mary (Ruddy) Spaide.
Jeff attended Crestwood High School in Mountaintop. He later moved to
Wilkes-Barre where he graduated from Hanover High School in 1982, and attended
Wilkes University.
Jeff was employed as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in the
Wilkes-Barre and Scranton offices. He later transferred to Las Vegas where, in
addition to his letter carrier position, he taught classes and trained new
postal employees.
A private viewing and memorial service were held in Las Vegas by close friends
and family. He is survived by his companion of 12 years, Ed Padavan of Las
Vegas, sisters, Colleen Moore of Wilkes-Barre, Kelly Witinski of Mountaintop,
brother, Michael Spaide of Wilkes-Barre; niece Caitlyn Moore; aunts, uncles
and cousins.
A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, February 3 from 6:00 to 9:00
p.m. at the McCune Funeral Home, 80 S. Mountain Boulevard, Mountaintop.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to
Jeff’s favorite charities, the Wildlife Foundation or the American Cancer
Society.
