January 29, 2000 Mary (Fadden) Travis, 90, of the Lee Park section of Hanover
Township, died Saturday at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. She was born Jan. 19,
1910, in Pittston, and was a graduate of St. John’s High School. She worked as
a seamstress and dressmaker in the Wyoming Valley for 70 years. She was a
member of St. Aloysius Church, Wilkes-Barre, and its Altar and Rosary Society
and the Firwood Senior Citizens. She was past president of Living a New Life
and the St. Aloysius Senior Citizens. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Thomas F.; son, Thomas; sisters, Agnes Levitski and Helen Orth; and
brother, Joseph T. Fadden. Surviving are her sons, John, Rockhall, Md.; and
Joseph, Houston, Texas; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister,
Sister Mary Justin Fadden, Philadelphia. Funeral services will be at 10:30
a.m. Wednesday from the McLaughlin Funeral Service, Wilkes-Barre, with a
funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Aloysius Church. Interment will be in St.
Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m. Tuesday.
