The Greater Scranton Penn State Chapter will sponsor its annual Night with
Phil Grosz on Friday in the cafeteria of Penn State Worthington, Dunmore.
   
Presentation will start at 7 p.m.; doors open at 6 p.m.
    Grosz is the owner and publisher of Blue-White Illustrated, a publication
devoted to Penn State sports, with an emphasis on Nittany Lion football.
   
Grosz will discuss recruiting and other aspects of Penn State’s football
program.
   
Admission is free to all chapter members. Non-members will be charged $6.

222-9000. RACEWALKING Aiming for Olympics Olympic trials-bound racewalker
Donna Chamberlain of Dallas recently finished fifth in the Road to Sydney
20K/30K race at the ARCO Olympic Training Facility in Chula Vista, Calif.
   
The 43-year-old, who will compete in the trials in July in Sacramento,
Calif., finished the 20K racewalk in 1:54:7. Her goal, going into the race was
to break two hours.
   
Racing in her first international race, Chamberlain competed against
racewalkers from Mexico, China, Ecuador and Denmark, as well as members from
the U.S. National Racewalking Team.
   
Yueling Chen of China, who is attempting to get American citizenship so she
can compete for the United States at the trials, won the race, finishing in
1:35:45.
   
Chamberlain’s coach, Jim Carmines, 56, of Harrisburg, set an American
record on a track for his age group (55-59), in the 30K race, with a 2:52:51
time.
   
Chamberlain, who spent 10 days at the facility, trained daily with U.S.
National Team coach Enrique Pena.
