January 29, 2000 obert P. Sickler, of Moosic, died Saturday in Mercy
Hospital, Scranton. Born in Avoca, he was the son of the late William and
Margaret Sweeney Sickler. He was educated in St. Mary’s School, Avoca, and
graduated from the former Northeast Area High School, Pittston. He served in
the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War in the Military Police. Before his
illness, he was employed as a security guard for Interstate Realty. He settled
in Moosic 10 years ago and was a member of the Nativity of Our Lord R.C.
Church, South Scranton. He was preceded in death by his sister, Delores P.
D’Annunzio. Surviving are his wife, Deborah Emlaw Sickler, with whom he
celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary on March 28, 1999; sons, Robert and
Derek Sickler, both at home; daughters, Patricia Mulrooney, Old Forge;
Margaret Sickler, at home; brother, William Sickler, West Pittston; sisters,
June Menichini and Colleen Fredrickson, both of Pittston; Margaret Krishak,
Tunkhannock; one grandson; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services
will be at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday from the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Old
Forge, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Nativity of Our Lord R.C.
Church, South Scranton. Interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
