WILKES-BARRE – A woman accused of shooting her husband was released from
the Luzerne County Correctional Facility on Friday after posting $50,000 bail,
a prison spokesman said.
Mary Perno, 42, of Kingston Township, was charged with two counts of
aggravated assault and one count each of simple assault and recklessly
endangering another person.
Police said Perno shot her husband, Peter, at least five times Wednesday
night with a .357 Magnum after an argument about their marriage.
Peter Perno, 46, also of Circle Drive, remained in critical condition in
the intensive care unit at Community Medical Center in Scranton, a hospital
spokeswoman said.
