John M. Morganelli, a Democratic candidate for state attorney general, spoke
to reporters at the Luzerne County Courthouse on Friday. Morganelli, district
attorney of Northampton County, is running against James J. Eisenhower of
Philadelphia in the April primary. The winner will face Republican incumbent
Attorney General Mike Fisher in November. Morganelli said the `number one
public safety issue’ is children who get access to their parents’ guns. He
proposes criminal charges against parents when their guns are used by their
children in a violent crime.
