January 30, 2000 lfred L. Tamanini, 87, of Sharpe Street, Kingston, died
Sunday at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township. Born July
19, 1912, in Mount Carmel, he was a son of the late Leo and Rose (Larger)
Tamanini. He attended a one room schoolhouse in Elysburg and lived in Kingston
most of his life. A land developer and land contractor, he owned and operated
Sunrise Estates, Carverton Road, Trucksville, Kingston Township. He was a
member of Holy Rosary Church, Ashley. Surviving is his wife of 10 years, the
former Helen Krupa; daughters, Dolores Tamanini, at home; and Patricia
Gudoski, Ashley; son, Alfred H., Trucksville; three grandchildren; one
great-grandson; sister, Alma Moorehead, Wyoming; brother, Leo, Tannersville;
and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife,
the former Louise Franzoi; and sisters, Catherine Tamanini, Mary Krum and
Blanche Bridey. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday from the George A.
Strish, Inc., Funeral Home, Luzerne, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:45
a.m. in Holy Rosary Church. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery,
Carverton, Kingston Township. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Holy
Rosary Church Building Fund.
