January 30, 2000 ane Dariel Williams Hopersberger, 63, of Rice Township, died
Sunday at Davis Manor, Wright Township. Born June 3, 1936, in Mountaintop, she
was a daughter of the late Joseph Mark and Mary Jane (MacNeill) Williams.
Raised in Mountaintop, she attended Fairview High School. Active in scouting
activities in Mountaintop, she was a Cub Scout den mother, and an assistant
with the Girl Scouts. She was a member of the Wyoming Valley Camera Club, and
received several awards for her photography featured in national publications.
She was a member of the Mountaintop TOPS Group. She was recently preceded in
death by her husband, Paul Robert Hopersberger, with whom she celebrated their
45th wedding anniversary Nov. 13. She was also preceded in death by her
brother, Russell. Surviving are her daughters, Donna Sledziewski and Dariel
Stolpe, both of Mountaintop; sons, Glenn W., Hazleton; and Paul J., Norfolk,
Va.; 11 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter; sister, Doris Hines,
Wilkes-Barre; and brothers, Joseph and John, both of Mountaintop; and Donald,
Bonifay, Fla. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday from the McCune
Funeral Home, Mountaintop. The Rev. Robert J. Thomas, a retired chaplain of
Hospice St. John, will officiate. Interment will be in Albert Cemetery, Wright
Township. Friends may call from 6 to 9 this evening. In lieu of flowers,
memorial donations may be made to the Mountaintop Food Bank, c/o St. Paul’s
Lutheran Church, Mountaintop.
