January 30, 2000 obert L. Webb, 76, of Wapwallopen, Conyngham Township,
formerly of Beachwood, N.J., died Sunday at Berwick Hospital. Born in
Lehighton, he was a son of the late Robert L. and Leah (Wehr) Webb. He was a
chemist for Ciba-Geigy, Inc, Ardsley, N.Y., for 27 years before retiring in
1976. He attended Mount Zion United Church of Christ, Slocum. He was a U.S.
Army veteran of World War II. He participated in the Normandy Invasion and
served with Battery A, 480th Coast Artillery Battalion. Before entering the
military, he attended Lafayette College, Easton. He was a lifetime member of
the American Federation of Musicians Union Local 341, Norristown; and
Lehighton Fire Co. No. 1; and a member of American Legion Post 314, Lehighton.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis (Weinert) Webb, Wapwallopen; daughter, Susan
Neyenhouse, Whitehall; stepson, Bruce Waters, Dowingtown; stepdaughters, Robin
McIlvaine, Coatesville; Chris Shapard, Dowingtown; and Janice Waters,
Pittsburgh; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first
wife, Trecia G. (Cook) Webb. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday
at Trexler Funeral Home, Inc., 1625 Highland St., Allentown. Interment will be
in Lehighton Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 this evening. In lieu
of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mount Zion United Church of
Christ, Slocum, or Lehighton Fire Company No. 1.
