January 31, 2000 Virginia Joivell, of Lambert Street, Pittston, died Monday at
Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born Aug. 27, 1916, in Cumberland, Wyoming, she
was a daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Woronovich) Kizelevach. A 1934
graduate of Pittston High School, she was a resident of Pittston most of her
life. She worked at Consolidated Cigar Corp., West Pittston, and was a member
of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston. Surviving are her husband of 50
years, John; sons, John, Huntingdon; and Hilary, Pittston; daughters, Virginia
Bressler, Taylor; Mary Burkhart, Tunkhannock; Elaine Bellanca, Kingston
Township; and Diane Uranowski, Mountaintop; three grandchildren, nieces and
nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy; brothers, John and
Joseph Kiselevich; and sisters, Rose Clifford and Janet Mugford. Funeral
services will be at 10 a.m. Friday from the Kizis-Lokuta Funeral Home, 134
Church St., Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St.
John the Evangelist Church. Interment will be in Pittston Cemetery. Friends
may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
