January 31, 2000 argaret B. Long, 90, of RR 2, Laceyville, (Rock Hill), died
Monday at Tyler Memorial Hospital, Tunkhannock, after a short illness. Born
May 6, 1909, in Scottsville, she was a daughter of the late George and Agusta
(Shaw) Brown. She attended Mehoopany High School~, graduated in 1927 from
Laceyville High School, earned her teaching degree from Mansfield Teachers
College and was employed for many years as a school teacher.~ She was later
employed at the Meshoppen Dress Factory for more than 21 years. After
retiring, she conducted research and helped write many family and local
histories. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J.; sister, Ethel
Trowbridge; twin sister, Marion Long; and brothers, William, Claude and John.
Surviving are her son, Charles, Laceyville; two granddaughters; nine
great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be
at the convenience of the family, according to the wishes of the deceased.
There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in the North Flat Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Laceyville Public
Library. Arrangements were made through the Sheldon Funeral Home, Laceyville.
