January 21, 2000 alph M. Izzo, 77, of Tavares, Fla., died Jan. 21. Born Jan.
21, 1923, in White Haven, he moved to Central Florida in 1992. He retired from
the White Haven Center, where he worked for many years. He was a member of the
First Baptist Church of Tavares, the American Legion and the Bass Anglers
Association. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn; son, Joseph, Danville; daughters, Karen,
Pennsylvania; Denise, Mountaintop; and Charlotte, Huntington Valley; stepsons,
Richard Stine, England; and James Stine, Harrisburg; stepdaughters, Helen
Baker, Canton; Patricia Hockenberry, Zephyrhills, Fla.; and Tammy Sherman,
Nuremburg; and 21 grandchildren. Graveside services were Jan. 26 at the
Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. The Rev. Don Rushing officiated.
Arrangements were by the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home, Mount Dora, Fla.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Legion.
