February 2, 2000 gnes Zara, of Charles Street, Old Forge, died Wednesday at
Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton. Born in Old Forge, she was the daughter of
the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Hunold) Chopyak. She was a 1937 graduate of the
Old Forge High School. She worked at Clarks Summit State Hospital before
retiring. She was a former secretary and treasurer of the Pennsylvania
Association of Retired State Employees. She was a member of St. Mary of the
Assumption Church, Old Forge. She was preceded in death by her husband,
Matthew L. Zara. Surviving are her son, John, Vestal, N.Y.; daughter, Rosalie
Talerico, Goldsboro, N.C.; four grandchildren; two great-grandsons; brother,
John J., Old Forge; nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at
9:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Old Forge. Interment
will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Old Forge. There will be no calling hours.
Funeral arrangements are by the Louis V. Ciuccio Funeral Home, Old Forge.
