November 26, 1981: Christopher Dean Robinson is born with hemophilia. 1989:
Dawn Rebarchak, Christopher’s mother, learns from the Hemophilia Center of
Central Pennsylvania at Hershey Medical Center that Christopher has tested
positive for HIV. 1994: Christopher’s disease progresses from HIV infection to
AIDS. August 20, 1995: Christopher, 13, reveals that he has AIDS in the Times
Leader series “Christopher’s Secret.” Early 1996: Christopher begins taking
an experimental drug called a protease inhibitor. September 15, 1996:
Christopher is the guest speaker at the first local AIDS Walk, as 1,000
participants raise $19,100 for clients of the Wyoming Valley AIDS Council.
September 14, 1998: At AIDS Walk ’98, Christopher tells the crowd his
medications are failing him. February 2, 2000: Christopher, 18, dies in
Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
