Zoning board taking applications
The Kingston Township Board of Supervisors is accepting applications for a
vacancy on the township’s zoning hearing board. The Zoning Hearing Board meets
once a month. Basic knowledge of zoning laws and/or land use is helpful, but
not required. Township residents interested in the position should send a
letter of interest to the Kingston Township Board of Supervisors, 180 E.
Center St., Shavertown, PA 18708. Letters should be received by Feb. 7, 2000.

WILKES-BARRE Snow removal effort continues in city Citywide snow removal
efforts will continue today, Thursday and Friday. Sections scheduled for
clearing include The Heights and portions of South Wilkes-Barre. The balance
of streets in South Wilkes-Barre will be cleared Thursday, said Mayor Tom
McGroarty. The following Rolling Mill Hill area streets are scheduled for
snow removal Thursday: Parrish from Hazle to High; Grove from High to Stanton
and the entire length of Brown Street. Residents must remove cars in advance.
On Friday, crews will remove snow from South Franklin, Regent, Barney and
Waller streets, McGroarty said. McGroarty also said the city is considering
the purchase of an additional snow thrower machine.
