February 2, 2000 dmund F. Maleski, 62, of Dupont, died Tuesday at the
University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia. Born in Dupont, he was a
son of Lottie Kunicki Maleski and the late Stanley Maleski. He was a
locomotive engineer for the Lehigh Valley Railroad and then Conrail before
retiring. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Sacred Heart
Church, Dupont; AMVETS Post 189 of Greater Pittston; the American Legion,
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4909 and the Polish Club, all in Dupont. He was
preceded in death by his wife, the former Phyllis Stefanelli; son, Mark; and
brother, Vincent. Surviving are his son, Gary, Hackensack, N.J.; sister, Irene
Ruda, Cocoa Beach, Fla.; and brother, Henry, Moosic. Funeral services will be
at 10 a.m. Saturday from the Stephen M. Lokuta Funeral Home, Dupont, with a
Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church. Interment will
be in the parish cemetery, Dupont. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m. Friday. Members of the AMVETS, Dupont VFW and Dupont American Legion will
conduct military honors Saturday morning.
