February 2, 2000 arry S. Burnett, 75, of Sweet Valley, died Wednesday at
Hospice Care of the VNA, Heritage House, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Jersey City,
N.J., he was a son of the late Harry and Delia (Higgins) Burnett. He resided
in Sweet Valley for the last 25 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War
II. He and his wife, the former Ileen Pretko, owned and operated the
Sit-n-Bull Inn, Fairmount Township for 13 years, retiring 11 years ago. He was
a 20-year member of Paramus (New Jersey) Fire Co. 1. Surviving, in addition to
his wife, with whom he celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary Jan. 12, are
his stepson, John Peszko, Florida; brother, Jack Burnett, Cave Creek, Ariz.;
and one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by sister, Mildred Lichty. A
private graveside service will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Pikes Creek, at
the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Funeral
arrangements are by the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., Pikes Creek.
